Airport operations from 17.3.2020
In recent days we have accepted decisions and measures for the purpose of containing the spread of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The current situation requires anything but easy decisions. Airport operations remain in line with the decisions made by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and will change as needed in the light of current events.
The Decree banning the operation of air services in the Republic of Slovenia applies to all public airports (both national and local). As a result of this Decree, no public airport in the Republic of Slovenia is closed, only international passenger traffic (transport of passengers in international traffic) is prohibited. In addition, the Ordinance provides for several exceptions, which are listed below. The prohibition does not apply to aircraft engaged in the international scheduled and special (charter) air carriage of goods and / or mail (cargo / mail), and to aircraft operating international special air services without the carriage of passengers on flights to or from their base or ferry flight). Individual flights by foreign state aircraft are exempted from the ban if they operate flights for humanitarian and medical purposes. Any other exemptions shall be granted by the Infrastructure Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Regular air traffic operations in European Union from/to Portorož Airport will be temporarily suspended, from 17. 3. 2020 from 00:00 to 30. 3. 2020 to 24:00. International air traffic from/to countries outside EU, is banned from 17. 3. from 00:00 until further notice.
